You need one form of ID: driver’s license, state ID, or utility bill with your current address. That’s it. No birth certificate.
No notarized letter. Just proof you live here.
Apply online. You’ll get a temporary digital card in under an hour. Use it right away for e-books and streaming.
Pick up your physical card at any branch during open hours. Someone else can grab it for you (but) they must show their ID and know your full name and date of birth.
Reset your PIN online. Update your phone number or email anytime. Place holds.
Renew most items twice (unless) someone else has requested them.
Auto-renewal fails if you have $10+ in fines. Or if the item is a museum pass. Or if it’s an interlibrary loan.
